The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church, with well over three million active men and women in almost every country in the world. There are also thousands of junior members. The goal of personal sanctification and service to the parish is achieved through a balanced program of prayer and service. Members meet each week for prayer, planning, and discussion, and then spend one to two hours of parish service work in pairs. Works may include visitation of the sick, aged, and homebound, religious education, Pilgrim Virgin Statue rotations, and meeting other spiritual needs of the parish. The Legion is in essence an extension of the heart and hands of the pastor.
If you think the Holy Spirit and Mary may be calling you, you are welcome to come to one of the meetings as a guest. Please call Rose Elsom at 869-1071.
