In preparation for the upcoming Parish Mission with Fr. Greg Bramlage, September 18th, 19th, and 20th, we will pray the Nine Days of Pentecost Prayer to the Holy Spirit.

Day 8:
Opening prayer:
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord,  Amen.
 

Day 8

Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness pour your dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away.
Bend the stubborn heart and will.
Melt the frozen, warm the chill.
Guide the steps that go astray.

Romans 8:11-18

If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

V: Renew your wonders in the Church of our day and in each one of us, as by a new Pentecost.
Increase in us the virtues of Faith, Hope and Love, we pray to the Lord.

Oración inicial:Ven Espíritu Santo, llena los corazones de tus fieles y enciende en ellos el fuego de tu amor. Envía tu Espíritu y serán creados. Y renovarás la faz de la tierra. Oh Dios, que por la luz del Espíritu Santo instruiste los corazones de los fieles, concédenos que por el mismo Espíritu Santo seamos verdaderamente sabios y gocemos siempre de sus consuelos, Por Cristo Nuestro Señor, Amén.

Día 8

Sana nuestras heridas, renueva nuestras fuerzas;
Sobre nuestra sequedad derrama tu rocío;
Lava las manchas de culpa.
Doblegan el corazón y la voluntad obstinados.
Derretir lo congelado, calentar lo frío.
Guía los pasos que se extravían.

Romanos 8:11-18

Si el Espíritu de aquel que levantó de los muertos a Jesús mora en vosotros, el que levantó de los muertos a Cristo Jesús vivificará también vuestros cuerpos mortales por su Espíritu que mora en vosotros. Así que, hermanos, estamos obligados, no a la carne, a vivir según la carne; porque si vivís según la carne, es necesario que mueras; pero si por el Espíritu hacéis morir las obras de la carne, viviréis. Para todos los que son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, estos son hijos de Dios. Porque no habéis recibido un espíritu de esclavitud que os haga volver a temer, sino un espíritu de adopción como hijos, por el cual clamamos: "¡Abba, Padre!" El Espíritu mismo da testimonio a nuestro espíritu de que somos hijos de Dios, y si hijos, también herederos, herederos de Dios y coherederos con Cristo, si es que sufrimos con él, para que también seamos glorificados con él.

V: Renueva tus maravillas en la Iglesia de nuestros días y en cada uno de nosotros, como por un nuevo Pentecostés. Aumenta en nosotros las virtudes de la Fe, la Esperanza y el Amor, roguemos al Señor.
R: Señor, escucha nuestra oración.

Oración final:
Ven, espíritu santo, Renueva vuestras maravillas en este nuestro día, como en un nuevo Pentecostés. Concede a tu Iglesia que, siendo unánimes y firmes en la oración con María, la Madre de Jesús, y siguiendo el ejemplo de los sucesores de San Pedro y de los Apóstoles, pueda hacer avanzar el reino de nuestro Divino Salvador, el reino de la verdad. y la justicia, el reino del amor y la paz
