The Saint Vincent de Paul Society (SVdP) is an international Catholic service organization whose purpose is to provide short-term for those in need. At the same time, it also provides spiritual growth to its members through their charitable works. The volunteers visit those in need in their homes and listen with empathy and compassion. The volunteers provide hope, community resource information, financial assistance and follow up support including prayer support as requested.
The work of the Society is supported by the generosity of the parishioners of St. Helen's Catholic Church. They contribute to the monthly Black Bag collection to assist their Georgetown neighbors in need.
